Health Effects: This substance can decompose in the gastrointestinal tract, releasing hydrogen sulfide (H₂S). Ingestion may lead to hydrogen sulfide poisoning. It is corrosive to the skin and eyes.
II. Sodium Sulfide Toxicological Data and Environmental Behavior
Acute Toxicity: LD₅₀ (mouse, oral): 820 mg/kg; LD₅₀ (mouse, intravenous): 950 mg/kg.
